Elevator safety rules
The elevator installed in multi-story buildings helps people reach the apartment quickly and comfortably.
Everyone must follow the safety rules in the elevator.
The main causes of problems in the elevator are as follows:
- failure in the electrical supply system;
- the end of the service life of the elevator;
- inappropriate and harsh movements in the elevator;
- accumulation of dust and similar obstacles around the elevator doors.
It is strictly banned:
- overloading the elevator;
- use of the elevator by child without an adult;
- standing between the doors of the elevator;
- shaking the elevator;
- damaging elevator buttons;
- smoking and using a lighter in the elevator;
- entering the dark elevator cabin;
- using the elevator during an earthquake or fire.
If you are trapped in an elevator:
- do not be afraid and do not panic;
- call for help by intermittently pressing the emergency button of the elevator;
- call for help by knocking on the door without damaging it;
- if you have a mobile phone with you, inform the elevator guide or the bodies responsible for the elevator operation;
- inform the "112" hotline if it is not possible to contact the relevant bodies;
- ask the people you call for help to inform the relevant bodies.
How to help a person trapped in an elevator:
- to calm down the person in the elevator and to assure that person that appropriate help will be provided;
- to inform the persons responsible for the elevator operation;
- to inform the "112" hotline if it is not possible to contact the relevant bodies.
Remember:
- during rescue activities, the key to the access door to the roof of the building must be presented urgently to the elevator specialist or rescuers;
- elevator mechanisms must be repaired only by elevator specialists;
- if the elevator moves down quickly due to a malfunction (which happens rarely), in this case, the person in the elevator should lie on the floor on his face or squat down and press his hands against the right and left walls of the elevator.
