Heavy rainfall has been observed in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula since last night, with precipitation reaching 103 mm, accounting for 523% of the monthly norm.

In response, the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are carrying out necessary measures to eliminate the consequences of the intense rainfall.

The State Fire Protection Service, the Special Risky Rescue Service, State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue, the Civil Defense Troops, and the Baku Regional Center of the MES are removing water from flooded areas and taking other necessary safety measures in various directions across Baku, as well as in Sumqayit city and the Absheron district.

Work has been completed in a number of areas, while operations are still ongoing at some locations.
