The “112” hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received information about a fire at a facility in Koroghlu Rahimov street, Narimanov district, Baku city.
In response to the information, the forces of the MES State Fire Protection Service were immediately deployed to the area.
Thanks to the prompt intervention of firefighters, the fire that broke out in the sauna with a total area of 300 sq m on the 1st floor of the facility operating as a hotel was extinguished in a short time, preventing it from expanding and spreading to the hotel.
As part of safety measures, hotel guests who were unable to leave the smoke-filled building were evacuated. No injuries were reported.
The fire destroyed a 10 sq m area of the sauna's wooden steam room.
Most of the sauna and the hotel building were protected from the fire.
