The delegation of the Ministry, led by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, is on a visit to the Republic of Belarus in order to participate at the 36th meeting of CIS Interstate Council for Natural and Man-made Emergency Situations and 2nd International Security Industry Exhibition "National Security. Belarus-2024".

On June 19, in the first half of the day, the delegation of Azerbaijan participated in the opening ceremony of the 2nd International Security Industry Exhibition "National Security. Belarus-2024" organized in Minsk-arena. Techniques and equipment for eliminating the consequences of accidents and disasters, including fire safety, and various means were shown at the exhibition.

Then the participants visited the Victory Monument in Minsk.

On June 19, in the second half of the day, the 36th meeting of CIS Interstate Council for Natural and Man-made Emergency Situations was held in Minsk. The delegation of the Ministry led by the Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan Kamaladdin Heydarov attended the meeting. Delegations led by the heads of agencies responsible for emergency management of the CIS countries participated in the event.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov gave information on the work done in the field of fighting emergencies in our country during the past period after the 35th meeting of CIS Interstate Council for Natural and Man-made Emergency Situations held last year. The Minister said that as a result of the immediate measures taken, the consequences of the natural and man-made emergency situations that occurred were eliminated with minimum damage and quickly. K. Heydarov also noted the importance of prompt information exchange between the relevant bodies of the member countries of the organization in order to effectively deal with large-scale emergencies.

The activities of the Interstate Council for Natural and Man-made Emergency Situations in 2023-2024 and the improvement of cooperation were widely discussed during the meeting. Also, discussions were held on the draft of the Council's main action plan for 2024-2025, including the state of implementation of its decisions, and reports were heard.

In the end, the heads of the delegations signed the Decision of the 36th meeting of CIS Interstate Council for Natural and Man-made Emergency Situations.
