MES State Fire Control Service suspends operation of fire-hazardous production workshop (video, photo)

The State Fire Control Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to take the necessary measures, within its authority, to ensure fire safety in the country.

In this context, during an inspection conducted by the State Fire Control Service in the production workshop at house 5b, Shovkat Mammadova street, Binagadi district, Baku city, it was determined that there were numerous violations in the field of fire safety. So:

- the primary fire alarm system at the facility was not fully installed, and the existing system is faulty;

- the electrical system was not installed in accordance with the requirements of the “Rules for the Installation of Electrical Equipment”;

- preventive inspection of the electrical system was not carried out, and the relevant inspection report was not prepared;

- the required fire safety distances between stored goods at the facility were not maintained;

- the facility was not fully equipped with fire extinguishers;

- the wooden structures were not treated with a fire-retardant solution;

- the evacuation routes were blocked with various items and an evacuation plan in case of a fire was not drawn up;

- ⁠⁠employees were not trained on fire safety, and a relevant log was not prepared;

- the compulsory insurance certificate of the facility's real estate was not submitted;

- the facility's activities were carried out in the basement of the building, contrary to the fire protection requirements of the design standards for residential buildings.

Thus, the current situation shows that as a result of the operation of the facility, the fire that may occur there at any moment will expand in a short time and make the tragedy inevitable.

Taking into account the above-mentioned, a decision was made to suspend the activities of the production workshop at house 5b, Shovkat Mammadova street, Binagadi district, Baku city, where gross violations of fire safety norms and regulations were discovered. A copy of the decision was submitted to the representative of the facility.
