Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov meets with newly appointed Ambassador to our country

Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to our country, Mohammed Hamad Saad Al Fuhaid AlHajri.

Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov warmly greeted Ambassador Mohammed Hamad Saad Al Fuhaid AlHajri, congratulated him on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to our country, and wished him success in his activities.

The Minister noted the participation of the delegation of the State of Qatar in COP29, which was successfully held in our country in November under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and was remembered for its historical achievements.

Stressing that relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar are based on the principles of friendship and mutual respect, Minister K. Heydarov reminded that relations are rapidly expanding thanks to the efforts and political foresight of the leaders of the two countries. In this context, the Minister touched upon the successful activities of the Joint Economic, Trade, and Technical Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar, which began operating in 2016 by the decision of the Heads of States, and gave information on the activities carried out by the joint commission.

Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov expressed his satisfaction with the current state of cooperation between the relevant institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Qatar in the field of combating emergency situations, spoke about the existing potential for expanding relations, and touched upon the work done within the framework of the "Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Emergency Management between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar" signed in 2014.

Expressing his gratitude for warm welcome, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to our country, Mohammed Hamad Saad Al Fuhaid AlHajri, emphasized that such a globally important event as COP29 was organized by Azerbaijan at a high level and successful results were achieved.

The ambassador reminded that relations between the two countries are constantly expanding and spoke about the mutual benefit of deepening relations between relevant institutions in the field of preventing emergencies and eliminating their consequences. The ambassador noted that he will spare no effort to further develop relations.

Views were exchanged on other issues of mutual interest during the meeting.
