Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov met with Minister of Municipality of State of Qatar

The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, met with the Minister of Municipality of the State of Qatar, Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya, who is on a visit to our country within the framework of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).

Warmly welcoming the guest, Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov stated that the participation of the delegation of the State of Qatar in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, successfully hosted by our country under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, is highly appreciated. The Minister recalled that relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar are developing rapidly thanks to the far-sighted policy of the leaders of the two countries based on mutual respect and trust, and expressed confidence that the meetings and discussions held within the framework of the forum will create new opportunities for further expansion of cooperation.

Minister K. Heydarov emphasized that there is great potential for developing cooperation between our countries in various fields, including construction and safety, recalled the 4th meeting of the Joint Economic, Trade, and Technical Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar successfully held in Doha last November, and spoke about the work done over the past period. The Minister also provided the guest with detailed information about the structure and activities of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Expressing his gratitude for the cordial meeting, Minister of Municipality of the State of Qatar, Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya, noted that the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum held in Azerbaijan was organized at a high level. He said he believes that this prestigious event will create a basis for extensive exchange of experience and the establishment of new relationships in the fields of infrastructure development, urban planning and construction in a globalized world.

The guest expressed satisfaction with the steadily expanding relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar and emphasized that there are good opportunities for further developing ties between the relevant institutions of the two countries.

A broad exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest during the meeting.
