Opening ceremony of newly built "Bilgah" water rescue station and presentation of equipment was held (video, photo)

On July 3, 2026, the opening ceremony of the newly built "Bilgah" water rescue station of the State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the presentation of newly purchased equipment for the Service were held in the Bilgah settlement of the Sabunchu district of Baku city. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov.

It was reported that the newly built modular water rescue station has been equipped with all the necessary resources, and the required conditions have been created to support the activities of divers and rescuers. In addition, it was stated that the construction of 20 modular water rescue stations is currently in progress with the aim of improving the efficiency of the daily operations of divers and rescuers. 8 of these stations are being built in Baku city and the Absheron district, while the other 12 are located across the country's regions.

Furthermore, it was noted that the newly purchased equipment and parts include 10 four-meter rubber boats with plastic bottom, 10 “Yamaha” model jet skis, and 10 “Mercury 25” outboard motors for them. Featuring high maneuverability, operational simplicity, and ease of maintenance, this equipment will make a valuable contribution to ensuring the safety of citizens in the water.

Recalling that, thanks to the direct attention and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the material and technical base of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is constantly being updated, the most modern techniques and equipment for rescue, firefighting and other purposes have been brought to our country and successfully put into service, and all kinds of conditions have been created for the daily activities of the personnel, Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov emphasized that reliably ensuring the safety of people in the water is one of the key areas of responsibility of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and gave relevant instructions for more efficient organization of work in this area.
