The International Search and Rescue Unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has conducted another tactical-special exercise
The International Search and Rescue Unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan conducted a 36-hour non-stop tactical-special exercise on July 10-12, 2024, with the participation of the team's personnel. The purpose of this exercise was to pass the classification of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) and to prepare for international humanitarian operations.
Speaking at the tactical-special exercise held in the areas of Turkan and Hovsan settlements of the capital, the head of the International Search and Rescue Unit of the Ministry, Deputy Head of the Main Operations Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, colonel Alasgar Aliyev, emphasized the importance of conducting the exercise in accordance with the international search and rescue format, while discussing the goals and tasks of the exercise.
During the tactical-special exercise, procedures for rescuing those trapped under debris as a result of natural and man-made disasters, providing first aid, evacuation, and conducting assessment measures in the area were applied. Special attention was given to adhering to technical safety rules in international humanitarian operations and instilling practical skills for the protection of life and health during the night portion of the exercise.
The objectives set for the tactical-special exercise were successfully achieved.
