“Young rescuer” International Competition and the “Young rescuer and firefighter” Republic Championship, organized by MES ended (video, photo)

An award ceremony of the winners of the “Young rescuer” XII International Competition and the “Young rescuer and firefighter” XIII Republic Championship, organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and supported by the Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Gabala district Executive Authority, took place on July 4 in Gabala city.

Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov, Head of the Gabala district Executive Authority Sabuhi Abdullayev, children and family members of the martyrs of the Patriotic War and public representatives attended the award ceremony.

In this year's competitions, teams from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Russia participated as competitors, while Tajikistan took part as an observer.

The aim of the competitions was to improve the level of emergency preparedness of teenagers and young people, to instill a healthy lifestyle, a sense of responsible approach to personal and public safety, and a spirit of national patriotism among schoolchildren, increase interest in the rescue profession, and form friendship and cooperation among young rescuers from different countries.

The official opening ceremony began with the performance of the State Anthem, followed by the showing of a video clip about the competitions prepared by the MES.

Then, a performance by schoolchildren about national patriotism and friendship between countries was followed. The winners were awarded cups, diplomas, honorary certificates and valuable gifts, while other participants were presented with honorary certificates and commemorative gifts.

The teams competed in stages "Barrier zone", "Combined fire relay", "Search-and-rescue operation", "Presentation of teams" and "Wallpaper".

The team of Azerbaijan took the first place, the team of Uzbekistan took the second and the team of Belarus took the third place in the international competition. The team of Ismayilli city secondary school No. 6 named after N.Behdiyev took the first place, the team of Babek district, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Nehram settlement secondary school No. 3 took the second place and the team of Gusar district Yukhari Zeykhur village secondary school took the third place in the republic championship.
