Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Remember!
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be continued:
Until the victim is attended to by a medical professional;
Until the victim regains normal breathing and a heartbeat (vital signs).

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in adults
Call out loudly to the victim lying motionless and gently shake their shoulders. If there is no response, it means the victim is unconscious. Ask nearby individuals to call an ambulance immediately. If no one is available to help, call an ambulance yourself and then proceed with the next steps.
Place your ear near the victim's mouth and your hand on their chest. If the victim is not breathing or is breathing abnormally, begin resuscitation immediately.
Check the victim's pulse in the neck (determine the location of the larynx with 2 fingers. Then slide your fingers into the side of the neck, try to feel the pulse in the groove between the muscles) (at least 5 seconds but no more than 10 seconds).
If no pulse is felt, quickly place the victim on a flat, hard, smooth surface. Locate the middle part of the breastbone and administer 30 chest compressions (with a frequency of 100 compressions per minute).
Open the airway by simultaneously tilting the head back and lifting the chin up and forward.
Pinch the victim's nose with two fingers.
Take a deep breath and seal your mouth over the victim’s mouth. Give a breath into their mouth for about 1 second until their chest rises (twice).
Continue resuscitation by repeating the cycle of 30 chest compressions and 2 rescue breaths.
If the victim is breathing normally and has a restored pulse (vital signs), place them in the recovery position on their side.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in children over 1 year
Call out loudly to the child lying motionless and gently shake their shoulders. If there is no response, it means the child is unconscious. Ask nearby individuals to call an ambulance immediately.
Place your ear near the child's mouth and your hand on their chest. If the child is not breathing or is breathing abnormally, begin resuscitation immediately.
Check the victim's pulse in the neck (determine the location of the larynx with 2 fingers. Then slide your fingers into the side of the neck, try to feel the pulse in the groove between the muscles) (at least 5 seconds but no more than 10 seconds).
If no pulse is felt, quickly place the child on a flat, hard, smooth surface. Locate the middle part of the breastbone and administer 30 chest compressions (with a frequency of 100 compressions per minute). Ensure each chest compression reaches a depth of 5 cm.
Open the airway by simultaneously tilting the head back and lifting the chin up and forward.
Pinch the victim's nose with two fingers. Take a deep breath and seal your mouth over the victim’s mouth. Give a breath into their mouth for about 1 second until their chest rises (twice).
If you are alone, repeat 30 chest compressions and 2 rescue breaths for 2 minutes (5 cycles)
After 2 minutes, call an ambulance and continue resuscitation.
If the child is breathing normally and has a restored pulse (vital signs), place them in the recovery position on their side.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in children 0-1 years old
Gently tap the soles of the infant's feet. If there is no response, the infant is unconscious. Ask nearby individuals to call an ambulance immediately.
Place your ear near the infant's mouth and your hand on their chest. If the infant is not breathing or is breathing abnormally, begin resuscitation immediately.
Try feeling the pulse with 2-3 fingers on the inside of arm, between the elbow and shoulder (at least 5 seconds but no more than 10 seconds).
If no pulse is felt, quickly place the infant on a flat, hard, smooth surface. Place two fingers in the center of the breastbone. Administer 30 chest compressions (with a frequency of 100 compressions per minute). Ensure each chest compression reaches a depth of 4 cm.
Open the airway by tilting the infant’s head back and lifting the chin up.
Take a deep breath and seal your mouth over the infant’s mouth and nose. Give a breath into their mouth and nose for about 1 second (twice).
If you are alone, repeat 30 chest compressions and 2 rescue breaths for 2 minutes (5 cycles)
After 2 minutes, call an ambulance and continue resuscitation.
If the infant is breathing normally and has a restored pulse (vital signs), place them in the recovery position on their side.
