Appeal from Ministry of Emergency Situations to the population regarding windy and unstable weather conditions expected in some areas
According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, strong intermittent winds are expected across several regions in the coming days, with heavy rainfall in some areas, possible short-term flooding in certain mountain rivers, and occasional lightning.
Taking into account the above-mentioned, the Ministry of Emergency Situations once again reminds of the relevant safety rules.
It is recommended to stay away from lightweight and temporary structures, buildings, and billboards, and avoid standing under electric poles, wires, or tall trees during strong winds.
Additionally, due to the challenges that strong winds pose to firefighting efforts, it is particularly important to follow fire safety rules in windy conditions. Users of small-sized vessels should take into account that venturing out to sea in such weather conditions is banned.
It is also recommended to stay away from areas prone to floods and flash floods to protect yourself from floods and flash floods that may be caused by heavy rainfall, and to immediately climb to a nearby height when faced with this danger.
To protect yourself from lightning, it is recommended to unplug electrical appliances, avoid talking on the phone. Steer clear of power lines, lightning transmitters, and antennas when outdoors, not to seek shelter under tall trees, try to find a relatively low-lying area for shelter. If you are in a car, stop driving, keep the windows closed, and wait until the lightning storm is over.
Remember: Indifference to the rules is a threat to our lives!
Call 112 in case of danger!
