The "112" hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received information about a fire in a fuel truck at the 60th kilometer of the Baku-Guba-Russian Federation state border toll highway.

In response to the information, the forces of the Sumgayit City Fire Protection Department of the MES State Fire Protection Service were immediately deployed to the area.

While assessing the operational conditions at the scene, it was determined that a “MAN” model fuel tanker had lost control and overturned onto the roadside, resulting in a traffic accident that led to a fire.

Thanks to the prompt intervention of firefighters, the fire that broke out in the fuel tank of the vehicle was extinguished in a short time, preventing it from spreading to the cabin and surrounding areas.

As a result of the fire, the fuel tank in the trailer of the car and the fuel that was spilled around it burned in an area of ​​500 sq m.

There were no injuries.

The cabin of the car and the surrounding areas were protected from the fire.

The incident is being investigated by the relevant agencies.
