The “112” hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received information that people were left in a helpless situation in Gobustan settlement, Garadagh district of the capital.

The forces of the Special Risky Rescue Service, State Fire Protection Service and the Civil Defense Troops of the MES were immediately deployed to the scene.

While assessing the operational situation at the scene, it was determined that during excavation work the soil layer collapsed and two people were trapped beneath it.

As a result of the rescue operation carried out by rescuers, one person (male) was rescued, and the body of one person (male) was recovered and handed over to the relevant authorities.

The incident is under investigation by the relevant authorities.
