Ministry of Emergency Situations holds another simulated fire exercise (video, photo)
An exercise was held at the “Gobu Park” residential complex in Garadagh district of Baku, at the initiative of the State Fire Control Service and with the participation of the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The exercise was conducted to assess whether firefighting vehicles can approach the residential building and the water reservoir with the "simulated fire" alarm signal, and overall operational conditions for firefighting in the area.
During the exercise, it was determined that due to the irregular parking of private vehicles in certain areas and the presence of artificial obstacles, the free movement of fire trucks in part of the residential complex’s courtyard was restricted. In addition, it was determined that the internal fire water hydrants were not fully equipped, the building was not fully equipped with primary fire extinguishing equipment, the electrical system did not meet the requirements of the "Rules for the Installation of Electrical Equipment" and the fire alarm system was not installed across the entire facility and was not in working condition.
Verbal and written "instructions" were given to the persons responsible for fire safety of the residential complex to eliminate the mentioned shortcomings, and at the same time, educational conversations were held with residents about ensuring fire safety. It was noted that vehicles should be parked only in designated areas, maintaining a safe distance from each other, and ensuring free passage for other vehicles, in order to allow entry of special-purpose vehicles into the courtyards of buildings without obstruction, to quickly bring them into combat readiness, and to conduct operations effectively, as well as to conveniently use water pools and hydrants in case of fires or other emergencies.
