September 27 - Remembrance Day marked at the Ministry of Emergency Situations

The Ministry of Emergency Situations held an event on September 27 - Remembrance Day.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Adil Abdullayev, responsible employees of the Ministry, professors, teachers and cadets of the MES Academy.

First, the event participants laid flowers at the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, paying tribute to the dear memory of the Great Leader.

The ceremony began with the performance of the State Anthem.

The dear memory of our martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Making a keynote speech at the event, Deputy Minister Major General Adil Abdullayev spoke about the heroism shown by the powerful Azerbaijani Army under the wise leadership of President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev in the Second Karabakh War, which began in response to the large-scale military provocation by the Armenian armed forces, lasted only 44 days, and ended with a historic Victory. The Deputy Minister said that the 44-day Patriotic War, which was written as a glorious page in the centuries-old history of Azerbaijani statehood, demonstrated the power of our people and state to the entire world. Azerbaijan, thanks to its own strength, succeeded in implementing the long-unenforced resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and restored justice. As a result of the local anti-terror measures successfully carried out by our Armed Forces, which lasted only 23 hours, the sovereignty of our country was fully restored.

The Deputy Minister, recalling that, in accordance with the Decree of the President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, September 27 — the day the Patriotic War began — is marked as Remembrance Day, emphasized that this is an expression of deep respect for the memory of our martyrs who fought heroically and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.

Other speakers at the event - veteran of the Patriotic War, reserve Lieutenant Colonel Emil Mammadov, department head of the MES State Fire Control Service, internal service Captain Alibala Alizade, department head of the State Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities Matanat Gahramanova, and cadet of the MES Academy Ruslan Jabiyev - spoke with pride about the historic Victory won by the brave Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in the Patriotic War that began in response to Armenia's next military provocation against Azerbaijan. The speakers, emphasizing the significance of the Great Victory, prayed for God's mercy on our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland, showing heroism in liberating our lands from occupation and achieving a historic victory.
