The first meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Emergency Situations was held (video, photo)

On May 17, 2021, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant General of the Medical Service Faig Tagi-zadeh met with members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Deputy Minister Faig Tagi-zadeh spoke about the special attention and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to civil society institutions and the importance of the role of non-governmental organizations in society. The Deputy Minister said that the relevant opinions and proposals of the newly established Public Council under the Ministry will be taken into account in the management of emergencies, expressed hope that it will make an important contribution to the development of effective cooperation with the public and delivered his best regards for its activity.

Then the first meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Emergency Situations began its work. Organizational issues were discussed and voting was held. Fuad Hajizadeh, acting vice-president of the International Eco-Energy Academy was elected the chairman, Mehman Ismayilov, deputy chairman of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Emergency Situations the deputy chairman, and Vafa Abbasova, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Women's Republican Public Union the secretary to the Public Council that will act for the two years.

Various issues were discussed at the meeting, members of the council spoke about the work done by the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the field of protection of the country's population from natural and man-made disasters. Presenting of the relevant opinions and proposals In accordance with the activities of the Ministry, and proposals on the close involvement of the members of the council in the activities carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations for raising awareness on emergencies among the population.
