Another tactical-special exercise of MES International Search-and-rescue Unit held

On June 13-14, 2024, another tactical-special exercise was held with the view of preparing the International Search-and-rescue Unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan to pass the classification of the International Search-and-Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and being ready for international humanitarian operations. The event held in Turkan and Hovsan settlements of the capital with the participation of the staff of the Ministry's International Search-and-rescue Unit continued for 36 hours without a break.

During the event related to preparation for the tactical-special exercise, the Head of the Ministry's International Search-and-Rescue Unit, Deputy Head of the MES Main Department of Operations, Colonel Alasgar Aliyev spoke about the goals and tasks. He also noted the importance of tactical-special exercise and emphasized the importance of holding the exercise according to the international search and rescue format.

The main activity was carried out with the application of procedures for rescuing injured people from the debris in case of natural and man-made emergency situations, providing them with first aid and evacuation, as well as implementing assessment activities in the area during the exercise. Instilling the observance of technical safety rules, as well as practical skills for life and health protection was in focus during the international humanitarian operations carried out at night.

The goals set during the tactical-special exercise were achieved.
