Joint Action Plan signed between Ministry of Emergency Situations and Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population

A Joint Action Plan for 2025–2030 was signed between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan to ensure the rights of persons with disabilities in the field of prevention, preparedness, and elimination of the consequences of emergencies.

The document serves the purpose of fulfilling the relevant obligations arising from the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

According to the Action Plan, awareness-raising events will be carried out for persons with disabilities and their caregivers regarding rules of conduct in emergency situations.

In addition, training sessions will be organized to further improve the knowledge and skills of the rescuers and firefighters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in providing assistance to persons with disabilities, and the possibilities of applying modern technologies and methods to receive calls from persons with disabilities to the "112" hotline will be explored.

The document also envisions the creation of early warning and information applications for persons with disabilities, including SMS services, the exchange of information about rehabilitation and social service institutions for persons with disabilities in the event of an emergency, as well as their evacuation, registration, temporary placement, and related actions.
