MES held awareness-raising event on fire safety in forests in Khachmaz district (video, photo)

The State Fire Control Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in accordance with its powers, continues to take necessary measures to ensure fire safety in the country.

In this context, the State Fire Control Service of the Ministry held an awareness-raising event on "Forest fire safety" in the Samur-Yalama National Park of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources located in the Khachmaz district.

At the event, attended by representatives of the relevant institutions, detailed information was provided on the current state of fire safety in forests and surrounding areas, particularly on the measures taken to prevent possible fires during the upcoming summer season. It was emphasized at the event that in order to protect forests, it is important for everyone to follow safety rules, including for relevant officials to properly fulfill their duties. At the same time, it was stated that in order to prevent fires in forests and surrounding areas, people, including entrepreneurs and residents of nearby villages, must strictly follow fire safety rules.

Questions were answered and a wide exchange of views on the topic was held during the event.

Then, a fire exercise was held in an open area. During the exercise, employees of the National Park were involved in extinguishing a simulated fire that occurred in an open area. Then, thanks to the rapid intervention of the fire protection units of the MES, which were immediately involved in the "site", the "fire" was extinguished in a short time, preventing it from spreading.

Later, the participants were shown a creation of a safety strip by plowing 6-8 meters wide areas around forest zones using specialized equipment.
