A meeting with the delegation of the Partnership Directorate of Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) is held at MES.

On October 2019 Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Lieutenant General Etibar Mirzayev met with the delegation led by the head of the Partnership Directorate at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) Rear Admiral Bulent Turan visiting Azerbaijan in the frame of “NATO days”. Greeting the guests Etibar Mirzayev informed them about the activity of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and national emergency management system in the country. He underlined that International Search and Rescue Team was created in order to develop international cooperation in emergency management and represent Azerbaijan Republic in international humanitarian operations.  He also said that the training will be significant for the preparation to have International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) classification. Etibar Mirzayev stressed that Ministry of Emergency Situations participates in the respective international trainings and is very interesting in this cooperation. The Deputy Minister also said that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory is under the Armenian occupation and the adversary is breaking cease-fire and setting the occupied territories on fire regularly. As the result of the fires the settlements and ploughed fields are always in danger. The appropriate forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations work in intensified regime.

The head of the Partnership Directorate Rear Admiral Bulent Turan thanked for the warm meeting and expressed his assurance of contribution awarded by the joint efforts for development of cooperation and organization of international trainings. He stressed his satisfaction of the MES’s participation in international search and rescue operations as well as the trainings.

Views on mutually interesting issues were exchanged at the meeting.
